What a Major Service Actually Covers
A major service is the most complete scheduled maintenance a car gets outside of a main dealer — it's the 2-yearly reset in the service interval, due every 24,000 miles or 24 months. It includes everything in an interim and full service, plus the longer-life consumables — plugs, fuel filter, brake fluid and coolant — and a 60-point inspection of the engine bay, brakes, steering, suspension and under-body.
